Inmates are frequently killers, and frequently have cruel beliefs. That is not okay.

If you had reason to be there, I would turn him out instead rather than subject you to it if he were unwilling to lay it aside. But I don't think taking it would make him feel any differently, except perhaps more resentful.

If you think he should be punished for accepting what the admiral provided, that should also be brought up with his own warden.
